The Cortina was thrust into the motoring worlds highbeams when Mk1 & Mk2’s dominated rally, circuit and endurance championships globally for much of the 60’s with drivers like Jim Clark & Sir John Whitmore behind the wheel. Locally, legends like Harry Firth & Bob Jane ensured the irrepressible Ford Cortina was permanently entrenched in the minds of Australian motor enthusiasts.

FAQs
Q:  Do I need to register for the event?
A:  Pre-registration will be highly encouraged, but not 100% neccessary.  More details will surface closer to the event, but keep checking the site for updates.

Q:  I have a slightly rusty TD Cortina, will I be welcomed?
A:  Absolutely.  All models of Cortina are invited.  Everyone attending will be an enthusiast and as such will embrace and encourage everyone to drag out their Cortina's, no matter what condition.  Half finished rolling restoration, full show/race car or daily driver.  We encourage everyone to come.

Q:  I'm coming from interstate, where can I say?

A:  The organizing committee is currently in negotiation with accommodation venues.  Stay tuned for an announcement in the comming weeks.

Q:  Will this be a weekend for the boys, or should I bring the family?
A:  The Cortina Nationals is being organised with families firmly in mind.  We anticipate bus tours and other functions to be organised to/at standout local attractions.

Q:  I have, or know of a company that might be interested in sponsoring the event.  Who should I contact?
A:  Fantastic!  The organizing committee will soon be sending letters to companies requesting sponsorship of the event.  We believe that the 1st EVER Cortina Nationals in Australia will be well supported by Cortina-philes, and as such, sponsors will recieve a large amount of exposure for their sponsorship investment.  There will soon be a section on this website specifically for sponsorship.  Please e-mail the organizers, write to P.O Box 1454, Ballarat 3354, or call Al on 0421 609 611.

Q:  I have an Anglia/Prefect/Escort/Mustang/Falcon/Galaxy, can I come too?
A:  Err, this is the Cortina Nationals, however, we are currently entertaining the possibility of opening the gates to other small Fords.  We feel there are many other events organized specifically for larger models like Falcons, Mustangs etc.  Stay tuned.

Countdown to go
